概要
襟を作る
作り目をして編み始めますが、まず襟ぐりの長さが必要です。赤ちゃんがそばにいるなら巻き尺を首に当てて自分の作りたい長さを測って下さい。巻き尺は帯状で立体的なものは測りにくいので、伸び縮みしない紐のようなもので測るといいでしょう。今回はそばに赤ちゃんがいないので適当に27cmと決めました。
目数を決めるにはゲージが必要です。実際に試し編みをしてゲージを測るのが普通ですが、買った毛糸玉の帯に参考ゲージが書いてあればそれを使って下さい。ある程度編んで長さが目論見と違っていたら、編み直して下さい。そうなったとしてもこの時点なら試し編みしたのとロスは大差ありません。
さて目数が決まったら作り目をして編み始めます。今回は56目。針は輪針を使ってください。針部の長さが短いので、棒針しか使ったことがないと最初は違和感がありますが、立体編みには必須なので慣れて下さい。
作り目は今回は指でかける作り目にしました。理由は、見た目が綺麗なのと伸縮性が高いことです。トップダウン編みでは作り目が見える位置に来るので見た目が大切です。さらに今回はボレロなので気になりませんが、プルオーバーだと頭からかぶる時に伸びないと困ります。そういう意味で指でかける作り目は最適です。
作り目をしたらガーター編みで好きな襟の高さ(2cm)になるまで編んで下さい。ただし、最後の段は表面で終わって下さい。
身頃と袖の編み始め段
襟が編み終わったらそのまま引き続いて身頃と袖を編み始めます。その1段目は裏側を見て編む段で、裏編みをしながらマーカーを入れて身頃と袖を区別します。
襟は27cmで56目です（21目/10cm)。ボレロなんで左右の前身頃を4cm（8目）離すことにします。この隙間も含めて全周で31cmで64目。前後で半分にすると32目なので、後身頃32目、前身頃左右それぞれ12目づつとなります。ラグラン袖の編み始め幅を適当に2cmぐらいとすると4目、これを前身頃側2目、後身頃側2目と振り分けてさらにラグアン線として1目づつ取るとマーカーの配置は図のようになります。
身頃と袖の編み進み
今回は前立てをつけないのでメリヤス編みで始めます。縁が綺麗になるように、編端の最初の1目は編まずに滑らせます。
編み始めて最初のマーカーまで来たら左側ねじり増し目を1目し、マーカーを滑らせ、ラグラン線を1目メリヤス編みして、またマーカーを滑らせ、右側ねじり増し目を1目してから、メリヤス編みを続けます。残りの３つのラグラン線のところも同じように編みます。つまりラグラン線の両サイドで増し目をするということです。編み終わり端は目を滑らせずに普通に編み終わります。
次の段は裏側を見て編みますが、増し目をせずに全て裏編みします。つまり増し目をするのは1段飛ばしということになります。この段も最初の1目は編まずに滑らせます。この表裏の段を繰り返して編み進めると身頃と袖が編めてきます。
